About the sample
This chemical element sample of silicon contains 95 % of this element. It comes from the Macedonian ferrosilicon producer situated in Jegunovce. The plant was opened in 1957 and the initial name was Jugohrom Ferroalloys Ltd. Later it was renamed Silmak and then Metal Invest EFT. This plant had been forced to shut down in November 2016 when it failed to install government-required pollution reduction systems. The ores for the production of ferrosilicon come from several locations in Macedonia. This sample has been donated by Zvonko Spasić through Petko Petkovski.
